How does consignment work?

We take approved saddles, tack, clothing, and boots that are in clean, usable condition. Pricing is determined by the item's brand, age, and level of use. All items are cataloged by barcode under the consignor, and totals build as items sell. Proceeds after our earned commission are paid according to term of the contract. Do my items have to be clean?

Items must be clean and free of mold and strong smells. Saddles and other leather tack should be clean and conditioned.

How are items listed and priced?

We can inventory and price items, or you may bring a list. Processing time varies depending on the amount of items. We price items based on age, condition, and current market value. We are happy to discuss pricing with you at the time of drop-off. Any items left with High Tail Tack are subject to the terms in consignment contract. (Including items dropped off for friends. Please ask for details. )

How do I get paid for my items?

Your account balance for sold items is always available to you in person. You can arrange to pick up your check, or use your balance as store credit. Checks are generated for mailing once your balance reaches $200 at the end of monthly reporting, once all items sell, or the term of the contract is complete. Please ask for details. 

Do I have to make an appointment?

Bring our saddles anytime! Just a bag or a box? Drop them while you shop :)
 If you have more than a box-ish, a whole car-load or a tack room clean-out; we need to work by appointment to allow processing time.
